My Ride Plans - FXD-Tim

The road captains have been asked to create their own ride plans for each of the three days, incorporating the scheduled events into those plans.

I've put together plans for each of the three days so you can decide if you want to ride in my group or another. I used Harley's Ride Planner to plot the routes.

Warning: While I grew up in Illinois and have family in Iowa, I have never ridden these particular roads, so this may be an adventure for all of us.

Also, I have posted assembly times and kickstands-up times and intend to adhere to those times.

You can view the ride plans here

Edit: I added a button to download the gpx files. Unzip the file and copy the 3 gpx files to your GPS.

2017 FLTRXS, Givi V56 Topcase, Windvest 10", National Cycle Hand Deflectors, Rapid Transit Tank Bag. My last bike was 2014 Triumph Trophy SE. Before that: 2010 FLTRX.

I have ridden most of the roads on the Iowa side recently, all are in good shape and are nice rides.

Those look good Tim.
How are we assigning riders to captains to distribute the riders equally? Did I miss a sign-up sheet?

Rob has the final say, but I think it will be self-selection each day.

Looks like some interesting routes, I will be joining you on one or more of these.

When I purchased my used RG, it came with a Garmin 660 but I've never-ever used it as I normally don't mind getting lost...it just adds to that day's adventure!?!

If this helps: If someone can assist me in downloading those maps I'd volunteer to line up at the back of your group(s), and act as the sweeper so if someone falls behind and/or gets lost, I could help them find their way. You can see I am tech-challenged with some modern gizmos!

2008 Black Pearl - Major upgrades are : 103" Stage 2 / PCV & AutoTone / V&H True Duals & Monster Ovals / Baker 7-speed Transmission
Arlen Ness 18" Rims & Avon Venoms / Brembo Differential Brakes / Hawg-Wired Stereo / Mustang Seat / Detach King TP / some other doo-dads

Tims trip

Looks good to me Tim there is a bluff lookout at Lansing that I think is the best view. If you dont sneek up there this trip maybe on your way home or a return trip sometime

Who are the other Captains, and do they have anything we can look at? Day 1 looks like fun. I dont wanna miss Dragos though whatever day that was happening on.

2011 FLTRX Black Demin 103, 21" CM Raider, -2 progressive monotubes, DIY air ride, WO 14" black apes, Power Vision, RSD Venturi, Dragula 2into1, Mean Mug bezel, Corbin solo

Review the sticky posts, "First Day," "Day 2," "Day 3." Dragos is not on the lists of "official stops." Everything is optional. You are free to plan your own activities.

I could alter Day 2, skip Strawberry Point and go up to Lansing. That would add 25 miles - a total of 360 for the day. Might be tough to get back by 6 p.m. Is it doable?
