I am trying to decide on which true dual headers I want to reduce heat and better sound. Everything is stock except 4" Cobra slip ons. Plan on keeping it this way for now but in the future may change the breather and add a fuel controller at the same time.
I just put the Rush Tru Duals on my cvo Road Glide last week and think they are a good product. Quality , fitment and noticed a heat reduction on my right side but I did have a cat in the stock exhaust.
I have V&H Big Shot duals. I agree with the above poster, sound is great and they look good as well. If you aren't in a hurry mine will be coming off in another month or so. I am going 2<1. These have been on the bike for a little over a thousand miles.
Bought on eBay new CVO touring mufflers for my '08 FLTR 105th. Best deal going while new CVO buyers are tossing their mufflers. Picts in my album.
Beautiful muffler. Bought and installed FullSac 2" baffles and cut out the pos oem cores. Great sound. Looking at the oem pos baffles, the FullSac cores must have a bump in HP an TQ.
FullSac also offers a true dual conversion for '08 headers. From what I have read, true duals are not good low end torque on oem engines. Good only if you have done some major engine mods - I have not. AC, muffler, all I want to do for now. So the true dual mod is an option for the future, but not for the moment.
Love the one piece look to the V&H Big Shots but not sure I like the small muffler, have 4" now and would not mind going bigger and louder....no choose of mufflers with those.
The V&H big shot duals are way louder then the 4" you have now or you will be getting later. Lets put it this way your buddys will not want to ride behind you if you have the Big Shots on your bike especially when you get on the throttle, I even had a service manager at a HD dealer comment on how loud my bike is. The bigger the muffler the bigger the baffle, the Big Shots have no muffler just enough baffle to give you back pressure. If you want loud this is the pipe for you.
I just made a different post about how Frank at Dragos helped me out. I would really recomend his stuff. I personally dont have his stuff on my bike right now. But I sure plan on giving his stuff a try in the future. I believe Rush makes his stuff for him, and I have Rush slip ons on my bike right now. They are nice pipes. Rush has different specs I'm sure, so performance may be different. Either way you go with those two, you will be getting a nice product. I recomend if you are on the fence about which one, call him.
Not sure if you have ordered yet but I just purchased the Cobra Tri-Ovals and the Cobra True Dual header. I got mine from Phat Performance Parts, great pricing, 5% dicsount and free shipping over 300.
