2 into 1 with no tuner or dyno?

I have a 07 RG and want to run a 2 into 1 but have run out of funds this year so the tuner and dyno $800 price tag is outta the question. Has anyone on here ran a 2 into 1 without those 2 things? What potential problems will I run into? Can I also change the air cleaner? Thanks in advance for the help.

Think the general consensus is that you can install EITHER an exhaust system OR an air cleaner, but not both without doing something to address tuning. That's what I've read on the internet anyway ... so it must be true. ;)

I see. I've been told by a couple of friends that id be OK. They said if I just put the exhaust on and didn't change the a/c that I would be fine. I just figured id ask you all for help cuz some of my friends are okie doke and I don't want to mess up my baby.

True if all change is the exhaust you won't need a tuner or dyno. But you're going from a 2 into 2 to a 2 into 1. That may be a diffferen't story. I'd do some more investigating. Of course if it were me I'd go ahead and change it and if it didn't run good I'd buy a Vance & Hines Fuelpak to get me by until the money came in and I could afford a more advanced tuner and dyno. I see used ones on Ebay for a song, $150 or so.

The best person to check with IMHO is Frank, since you are putting his system on your bike anyway. It's a question worth asking, but I would guess if ya leave the A/C alone you should be fine.

My suggestion is to either install the parts and tune it or just wait till you can do everything. Like they are saying you're taking a lean situation and making it potentially leaner. You're probably going to have some heat issues as well(and those 96s already run hot enough)

Swag, I changed to a 2 into 1 without the air cleaner or tuner for about a week because I didn't have time to do either. Your gas milage is going to suffer a bit and you will get some spitting and popping especially on decel. The a/c is really the deal buster with adding a tuner. If you change that I really think you need to tune it.

I would assume you want the 2 into 1 for performance, not just looks. If that's the case, than like me you need to wait till you have the dough for the whole job, pipes/ac/dyno.

I'm thinking of adding slip-ons for now and V&H true power duels with a/c, tuner and dyno when I can afford it.

Then again I got this credit card that just sits there in my wallet....

Thanks fellas. I appreciate all the input. And actually as silly as it might sound....... At this point I'm want to but more for the look than the extra hps. I love the way they look. IDK. I'm pretty bummed. I wanted 2:1 :-/
