Question SIde Dump VS under bag Turn Down

So I'm modifying my 2008 RG, I have purchased a rear end kit with no exhaust exits out the rear, I like the clean smooth look and I'm on the fence regarding what exhaust setup to put on. Like the look of a side dump system however reading up on them, I don't know that I want to hear nothing but the exhaust, especially when my girl rides with me (majority of the time). Looking for some input as to the PRO's and CONN's between a side dump exhaust setup VS running the pipes under the bags and putting urn down caps on them.

Who makes a good under the bag turn down system?

Who makes the best side exit system that isn't going to make you Deaf?

The side dumps look cool but it they are very loud and not the greatest performance out of them. If your keeping duals bad dad makes mufflers specific for under bag turndown https://www.baddad.com/products/part/81083

And 2-1 LSR makes short tun down under bag that will be a great performer
https://www.rbracing-rsr.com/lsr21/flhtsleds.htm

I was in same boat and wanted a clean rear with no cutouts but already had my 107 tuned and dialed in with Thunderheader X pipe 2-1 so I modified it, very easy since the end cone on the the TH is only tacked on it was easily removed then I just added a turn down tip. You can see how it was done on my build thread https://www.roadglide.org/65-road-gli...ck+denim+build. Good luck on your mods, post some pics up when it's done

i've always preferred running the sound out the back, but i do more hiway cruising than city riding.

kerker used to make a good pipe.
don't know how they are these days, but might be worth a look.

Take a look at Fab 28 exhausts. Jay makes a great product and has great CS. I run a performance pipe on my Dyna...I usually ride fast enough I can't hear it though it does catch up to me when I'm vertical I wear a full faced helmet and ear plugs when I ride, so no deafness here. YMMV.

I'm adding a TW555 cam to my new RG, and sticking another Fab28 performance pipe on her. Hoping to get vertical with her as well (after I replace these huge apes with some Tbars).

Check em out.

If I was gonna go with a side dump I'd consider one of these dirty bird concepts pipes.

Love dirty bird pipes on how they look. Heard they are really loud and you cant baffle them. Lots of people buy them, then sell then cause they either can't hear the radio or their old lady is yelling.

I want one but waiting to hear one in person before I drop that kind of cash.

But if I found one used and cheap enough I would attempt it....

Nordic Berserker- so I went with a 2-1 side dump Nastybastard which looks sick and sound is great but very loud. Couple questions regarding your set-up?
1) Are you running rear air ride
2) have you noticed any scrapping in corners

So here's the final build

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in
a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming --WOW -- " What a ride!!!
