Stage 1 maybe

2017 RG Special
S&S Mk 45痴
57500km 35728miles

No other engine work upgrades.
So I知 considering doing a Stage 1
I did this to my 2013 with the 103
I went with an S&S Big Sucker and a Tear Drop cover.
I then took it to a local dealer and had them install a new map.
I did this as I had no intentions of doing any more upgrades.
I知 thinking of doing the same thing to the 2017
Go with a bigger air breather but keep the stock look and cover.
Then take her to the dealer and have them change the map.
I知 wondering if this will help with my fuel mileage?
Not that I知 complaining was just wondering if it's going to get better / worse / or stay the same

She might not be the fastest bike on the street, nor the lightest, nor the best handling but with her pipes it'll sound like God's coming to dinner and he doesn't like what's being served. IBA #56452

Well unfortunately you can't just go get them to flash a stage I tune and be done with it. With the M8's you will need to buy a tuner to go full stage I & up. If you still have any warranty including an ESP that requires EPA approved devices to keep coverage you will need to get the HD SE Street Tuner. If you no longer have warranty or ESP then you can get whatever tuner you want. As far as mileage goes I haven't noticed any real difference going from completely stock to stage II. Shouldn't get worse anyway if you ride the same.

I use the HD reusable air filter and it works just fine and it actually captures more dirt then the k&n filter. I can look right through the K&N filter and see light so I just don't use them. If you're getting between 40 and 45 mph with normal riding then you're good. JMO

Thanks for the response guys.
Didn't realize I had to get a tuner with the M8
That sure clears things up.
I'll go with the Harley one then.
Thanks again.

The Stage 1 on the M8 will get you about an additional 8-10hp and 10-15 ft/lbs of torque. It will put you in the 82hp/102tq range for about $1000. If you jump right to the Stage 2, I would suggest the Power Cam and de-catted head pipe. It will put you around 96hp and 106tq. Depending on the head pipe, that will run you about another $1500-$1800. These numbers are all factory parts, SE Power Cam and SE Tuner. Keeps the warranty in tact and those M8s like the power cams.

I'm loving the Mk45's.
Having trouble unloading the VH that I originally put on it
