Exhaust Woes

Hit a large pothole last night. Left side exhaust dropped and separated. The two bolts that hold the crossover pipe mount broke off in the tranny case.

I got it back on with some bailing wire, but now I need to take the rear tire out to get to the bolts and drill them out for an easy out.

Stick, sorry to see the damage a big pothole did to Your Glide.
I went through the same dilemma a couple of months ago that bent my front rim and broke my front axle.
The roads in Our Country need to be better taken care of.
I was fortunate enough that the damage was covered under My Insurance policy.

Now that's a pothole - woah. Good excuse to also upgrade from the air suspension "while you're in there"

WOW, that must have been one hell of a pot hole. Were you riding in Illinois? Maybe it's time for a 2 into 1 exhaust.

Panic, chaos, disorder, my work is done here.

Yes, it was a big pothole. California has way too many of them. All politics aside, just fix the roads, leave publicly funded Mass transit for later.

Not going for 2into1, I've had this setup for 7 1/2 years/93K miles and I am very happy with it. Should be fine once the mount bolts are back in and doing their job.

No damage to either rim or tire. Suspension is fine. Not going to upgrade there. Mine is still doing it.s job. I'm not trying to canyon carve, just enjoy my ride.

I'll fix it and keep riding!

That sucks, glad there was no additional damage to you or the bike. Potholes suck, roads in mass are in horrible condition. Been riding a lot out of state for safer better roads.

Good luck with your repairs!

Found I have a few more cracks than expected. Yanking the whole system off the bike tonight. Then welding up what needs to be fixed and putting it back together with new gaskets, clamps and bolts.
