Love these mufflers. Thanks @Thermodyne

I do not have the DB killers in. The came with them. Just not installed. I can see why you would put them in with an aftermarket header. They would have to be really loud then. @macabra11 With the DB killer and stock headpipe ya may have been ok. But these may have been to loud for you. I'm surprised that these are louder than my CVO cans with fullsac baffles and an open header. Not a bad louder. Because these are deep. Real deep tone. But you'll hear them. When you're hitting 3500 to 4000 rpm they really light up. It's the perfect combination of quiet on idle deep rumble when riding nice and super aggressive when on the throttle. I'll he leaving the DB killers out. But if and when I do a head pipe. They'll likely be going in.

The black finish is not a perfect match to the stock black heat shields. Wish they could all get on the same page. But I'm good with it. When I put a new header on it they'll match then.

Looks, ya. Fills in the extended bags very nicely. Makes a big difference.

Overall. Super happy. Would do it again and I would suggest anyone considering these to buy them.

One thing I noticed. That's a plus for me. They're less raspy than the HO when on the throttle. For me. That's a plus.

Thanks Matt. Got it right the first try. Not usually my luck.

i was seriously thinking about a set of these for my bike, but found a set of 4'' rineharts for a price that i couldn't pass up. while the rinehart's sound good, i still think the mk45s sound better. but you gotta do what your budget allows you to do, ya know?

great sound!
I know about budget. That's why I put the 909s on the Trike. They were 300 bucks new on Amazon. This time I said fuck it. Spending the money once. Now the wife wants a set. They're very noticeably louder than the 909s.

The speakers are boxed up. Just need to get to the USPS. Working a ton of hours trying to make up for all the time I've had off last few months.

They most definitely sound tamer with the stock head pipe, but I can tell they are loud. Do you think you'll go with the matching S&S header when you make the switch? I am really glad that you hit the nail on the head the first time around (on this bike lol). I think they look good on your bike too!

The Cobra 909s have been on my short list too. The Cobra Longshots I had on my old Vulcan 1500 were awesome, but I think I am going to run my Magnaflows for awhile.

Not sure. I like the V&H Power dual header. But I'm not opposed to either one. We'll see in 2 years. Lol. If I make it that far. My shop manual is here. Need to pick that up.

The wifes 15 Freewheeler had the 909s. I put the 909s on the 19. They have great tone. But they are quiet compared to the MK45s. I know my wife is going to say she wants different mufflers when she hears my bike. Lol.

I don't know if they will pass a sound test, sans cat converter and with the motor stepped on a little, but it would be close.

With the 45's I never fear getting stopped for noise. Can't say that about the V&H High Outputs.

The DB meter on my phone says 67db at idle with the silencers in.

I have gotten enough seat time to form an opinion of the Mk 45s with the oem head pipe with cat. And its Blah..................A lot better than stock, but not in the same arena as with an x-pipe.

I was much more impressed with the set I had behind the Jackpot head pipe. I ran these with the db reducers, then without. Got a little decel popping without, so I put them back in. On the road it sounds pretty much the same either way.

The deceased 107 with the stage 2 would have smoked this 114 with just cans. Can't wait to get some more miles on this thing and give it the same stage two treatment.
