primary fluid

does the 2013 Road Glides still take 1 guart of oil in the primary?

The primary has not taken 1 quart of fluid in the touring models for sometime now. It takes 38 fl oz (1124 ml) of primary fluid when just doing a fluid change, if the primary cover is removed you need to put in 45 fl oz (1331 ml) of primary fluid.

i still run just a qt in the primary. no reason to overfill it, all your trying to do is get the chain in the oil so it can sling it around.

I've always put what the svc manual calls for 38oz. if doing just fluid change ..don't see any valid reason to do other otherwise, certainly not to skimp on 6oz. of oil ...

The quantities of all your service fluids are in your owners manual. Follow those capacities to the letter...

If your not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room...

Negative . Just like your primary you should run your engine 1/4 to 1/2 qt low too.
