oil pressure

Hey guys. I purchased my first RG last season and about mid season began noticing a significant drop in oil pressure after the bike is warm and is idle. Oil pressure goes back to normal once accelerating. I noticed this after the first oil change harley performed. Is this low oil pressure something to be conserved about or normal for the 103?

Warm and at idle they typically run about 5 psi. It's normal.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new glide. Don't stress It's completley normal and you will see it more noticeably when hot. Its based more on flow not pressure. In extremely hot weather I've had mine appear at near zero on the guage. I don't think the oil psi guage is known to be 100% accurate anywhoo.

All my twin cam baggers did that,when i changed cams this past winter i installed the Axtell oil bypass valve,now the oil pressure is about 7-8 lbs hot at idle and about 32-34 at 60 mph.

2012 RG Vivid Black,contrast Anarchy wheels,SE air cleaner,cobra tuner,Thunderheader ,diamond cut heads and clys,Fueling Reaper 574 cams,this is just a starting point.
