I doubt they changed other than adding a gear or two.

It's still basically the same as when it was only 5 speeds. Ball bearings, roller bearings and gears.

And if it will live on Syn3, then it will live on anything. 75-90 dyno or syn, 80-140 syn gear oil, Formula+, or any of the multitude of specialty fluids out there.

I use 80-140 syn gear oil in my 5 speeds and 75W140 Red Line Shockproof in my 6 speed.

75-90 is about the same as 20/50 They use a different method to figure each for some reason .

I use 75w140 full synthetic gear lube in my tranny and it has 100,000 plus trouble free miles. Do I need to say more?

I use Mobil 1 or Valvoline 75w140 full synthetic gear lube, they both are good products but the Valvoline is less expensive because you're not paying for the Mobil 1 name. I also used Mobil 1 20w50 V- twin oil oil in my bike but I now switched to Castrol 20w50 full synthetic V-twin oil, all these products are available at Autozone. I do use HD primary & transmission oil in my primary.
