Fuel cans OK with dual exhaust?

Any reason to be concerned about heat (or anything else) if I get one of those little Reda gas jugs to put in a saddle bag? My 2010 has factory bags and dual exhaust.

2010 Road Glide Custom, 103 big bore, other goodies.

No issues. Just did 3500 miles with one in my bag. I have CVO mufflers the fullsac baffles. No wraps.

Nope. But knowing that I had it was really nice. Having never been to Sturgis and Wyoming I didn't know what I was going to need as far as distance between station in the middle of nowhere. I'll he going to Maine and NE states for 9 days this year. I'll have my can and I'm very familiar with all of NEW England. Peace of mind.

craigffb, I have used mine several times, once for myself and a few times helping others. the set I have are not vented, which helps prevent fumes / odors fouling up whatever else is in the saddlebag, but the temperature does get a little warm above the exhaust (not hot or anything I would worry about, but I have noticed my clothes come out of the luggage warmer than ambient temperature). I leave some space at the top of the can instead of filling it completely up to leave an area for expansion. I have probably put 10K on my bikes with at least one in a saddlebag, frequently one on each side and never had a problem.

@RFG7680

I always figured it was a piece of mind thing. I'd think now a days if you ran out of gas, it'd be kind of a "your own fault" thing.

Nope, didn’t have to use mine, but almost in Illinois on the way home! I burned the gas in them in the fall before I put her away for the winter.

Ya. When we packed up in Wyoming for the ride home I dumped mine into the bike. I knew I definitely didn't need to use it.
