19 tranny fluid

So my 19 rgs has 2600 miles on it. I've noticed the last month or so it's been grinding on 1st to 2nd shift. I called the dealer and inquired if they have the vent kit on hand. They said they did and they are aware of the m8 problem. I will check the fluid later when I get home. The tech said it usually occurrs around the 1k to 8k mark. He said if it's low don't add any cuz he has to verify it. It's not going in for a week. I guess I'll ride it dry. Because I'm not , not riding. What annoys me is when I brought it in for the 1k service you'd think they would just have installed the kit proactively, or at least mentioned to me to keep an eye on the fluid loss. Smh

They wont install it "proactively" because the dealer would have to foot the bill because it's not recall. For them to actually say they are aware of the problem is quite a big feat in and of itself. They dont usually fess up to things that easily. To save face with their customers they should've at least mentioned the fix and gave you an option to fix it instead of wasting our time. Granted nothing is ever perfect but its stuff like this that prevented me from buying a new bike for which I was going to do

The only reason it is not a recall is because there are no safety issues involved. Let them run out their warranties and if their transmission goes after that, it's not our problem. I bet you half to three quarters of M8 owners have never even heard of this issue. At 1K, 5K, and 10K, they bring it in for maintenance, never even checking the transmission fluid level between then. The tech drops the fluid, puts in new fluid and no one even know's it was migrating.
