High oil pressure and smoke... at 650 miles!

I'm not sure if this is the area to ask this but here goes....
I turned 500 miles today after following break in procedure by staying under 3500 rpm's, shifting often, etc... I twisted it a few times after this to see how she runs. Never hit the rev limited, never felt any change..
Today I also put a heavy breather on my bike.
After riding up to bike night tonight to meet some friends I noticed on the way home that my oil pressure gauge was pegged while riding at about 30-40. When I stopped I saw smoke from my tail pipes come passed me...

So I turned the bike off and restarted it in case it needed to reset something but no change. I rode easy and stopped... same thing... Oil pressure gauge was pegged at idle... dropped a little and pegged out again as soon as I started moving...

Anybody ever have this kind of issue with a brand new bike?

Just a stab in the dark but I think the heavy breather install has something to do with it ... Take a minute and reinstall your stock a/c see what happens or check your vent tubes from the heads
Sounds like you've got crank case pressure which would cause you to blow smoke out the pipes

Did you reuse the stock head breather bolts? Like mentioned above, you have blocked the head breather system. The bolts you use to attach the throttle body plate to the heads must be drilled!!

He's exactly right... You have to reuse the Breather head bolts as they vent the heads back into the intake... If you used solid bolts to bolt the breather mount to the heads your creating pressure in your motor causing the oil to blow by...

Are you guys referring to the 2 bolts that hold the breather in place? I reused the ones that were used for the stage 1.
Could I have over tightened them and blocked the flow?

Yep. Listen to these guys. Whenever something is wrong start with the last thing you changed.

I'm going to undo and re-do what I did to trouble shoot...

Can someone tell me where I will find the vent tubes from the head?

I think the bolts for the stage 1 is different than for the heavy breather....

It vents through the bolts that screw into the heads... If I remember right the stage 1 bolts vent A little differently...

I'm thinking we may have found the culprit. The stage 1 bolts are different and the heavy breather kit calls for the factory bolts. I'm about to change them out and test it. From the looks of it I think it will solve the problem.

Thank you guys for your input. I might have been a "little" freaked out... I mean I actually kept the revs under 3500 for 500 SOLID miles only to have this spring up 150 miles later.. Longest week of the year
