Power Vision Questions

Received my Power Vision from Fuel Moto and I installed it and flashed the ECM with the supplied MAP from Fuel Moto. Super easy took less than 10 minutes ( once I released that I had the engine kill switch on off and it could not read the ECM

Overall the bike runs much better than before, smoother, and feels like it pulls stronger during cruise to full throttle roll on. I rode it hard for about 150 miles with a lot of WOT and accel runs so the initial milage was down to about 39 mpg. And I really like not having the PC V on there any more as a piggy back and that Im now using the O2 sensors again.

My question is will the Power Vision always store the original ECM Calibration (MAP) that it kept when it married itself to the bike? Or do I have to save it into another file so that I dont loose it when loading new MAPs. The uinstructions say it automatically saves the original MAP when it marries to the bike , but it also will save the current MAP every time it loads a new MAP.

I want to be sure that I have the stock ECM calibration in case I need to go back to stock for any Dealer issues in the future.

Thanks inadvance for the help.

I did the same thing you did with the install. I saved the stock tune in my computer and it is saved in the Power Vision. I have the same results and have used a tank of gas on a known rout, fuel mileage is the same or not much diff. I do not have to down shift out of sixth like I use to and less shifting in the twisty turnies in the mountains. Runs alot cooler too. this 103 runs like a 103 now.
11 Road glide Ultra, SE air, Cycle Shack slip ons. love it!

Did you use a Fuel
Moto MAP or one from Dynojet

Ill try to answer if Im reading your question right. Your original map, is now saved onto your PV. You can at anytime load it up to your ECM if you need to go back. Your stock map is no longer in your ECM, only the map your currently running. Your ECM only has 1 map in it at all times,. your PV on the other hand can save up to 6 if memory serves. I have 3 saved in mine including the stock map. Its also a good idea to hook your PV up to your computer and save the maps as a backup just incase. Ive even read where some guys make a 3rd copy on a zip file.

Bought this package on 09/13 (see below). Very easy install. I cannot believe the difference in my stock 2009 FLTR. Wish I had done some meaningful pretesting so I had something to compare before and after. Can tell you this: On a downhill run from Mt. Bachelor to Bend on my stock bike, 100 MPH and she was all in. After the Fuel Moto install on a flat run from Redmond to Bend, I backed off at 110 MPH. Also the best stock fuel mileage I ever got was 47 MPG on a solo Bend to Reno Street Vibrations trip in 2010. Wednesday I made the same run with a passenger and baggage for 2 at: 72MPH, 2800 RPM, 6th gear and averaged 51MPG on each of 4 fuel stops. At 2800 RPM I'm still in the 14.6 AFR range but the bike seems to be running cooler. Shoulda done some pretest to prove/disprove this. I did change to Mobil 1 Syn just before the trip and was able to buy non-ethanol fuel while in Oregon. Also the Jackpot 3.5" Dyno tuned mufflers are extremely pleasant on a long run. There's just gotta be some reason Fuel Moto made the mufflers side specific and added extra baffling to the Left side. I believe their claim they are 'Dino tuned'. There is one thing I wouldn't do again on this install. I removed my fuel tank to run the PV wire concealed. The wire has no end covers so to protect them when I remove the PV, I cover both ends with electrical tape then tie wrap the overlap to keep the tape on. Kinda a pain when U want to play with the PV. Do need to contact Jamie to see if a new cable is available.
Oh and another thing. I had a fault code show up during the maiden run. #B1123. Had to take it to WildHorse Harley on the Saturday before my trip to Street Vibrations. I left the PV on my handlebars and plugged in. I wanted the Dealer to see exactly what I had done to the OE ECM. I really thought they would claim I had caused the fault. In fact the service order read: "Dyna Tech Power Commander installed prior to problems - Coincidence"? No problem with my flash of the ECM or the PV install. They did replace the Brake/Turn Signal Module which corrected the fault code. It does seem that running the bike with the PV on causes some fault codes but none that require action.
Well that's it! Unscientific and undocumented. But I would say this is the best $$$ I have spent on this bike. And I'm gonna be preaching the benefits to anyone who will listen. I do believe that the Fuel Moto total package is required to reap my benefits

If you travel, I'd recommend saving the stock map and the one you're using on a thumb drive so you can carry it with you. Never know what you might have to do on the road.

Tune from Fuel Moto:0809-96-JPSlipons-205.pvt Possible the Jackpot Slipon's are responsible for the wonderful mileage or maybe I'm running too lean? Who knows.
