I prolly need an ECM upgrade

After 4K miles, my night stick is showing signs of running lean. I need to go cheap, what are my options? My service manager said there is no upload like there was on my 05 king.

Try buying a fuelpak off Ebay. You can get the map for it off the web site. That would be about the cheapest way to go but every Nightstick I've seen has turned brown.

You could always try the Terry Components TV3. Seems to work rather well.

your dealer is wrong. There is a stage 1 download. I have one in my 2011 RGU with stage 1 aircleaner and slipons.

Before I spent $200 for a dealer download, I'd at LEAST buy a V&H Fuelpak for $250.

I hate to say it, but a $20,000+ motorcycle ain't the place to go cheap.
$400 +/- for a TTS is pretty cheap, in comparison to the cost of an engine.

ANY tuner, whatever your pref, PCV, SERT/SEST whatever is worth the money.

Cheapest you could go would be IEDs from nightrider.com....I have not every used them but it would be the cheapest, best way to go would be PCV from FuelMoto.

I use the IEDs. This is an inexpensive way to go and has many benefits. Easy to install. No dyno tuning needed. Get most of the performance benefits of stage one upgrades. It will richen up the closed loop air/fuel ratio to 13.8 to 1 from 14.7 to 1. This lets the bike run cooler and brings exhaust temps down. The motor running stock in the closed loop is likely the cause of the nightstick changing color, not the open loop stage that actually is tuned pretty well stock. EPA mandates do not apply to open loop throttle conditions so HD can and does tune that operation much richer in the air/fuel ratio. A down load or fuel pac will do little to nothing to change the closed loop air/fuel ratio. IEDs are not a real performance tunner and will not max out your motors power but the bike will run great, trouble free, cooler, and is a good option for someone not looking to spend a lot to get max performance from a stock or stage one bike.

Frank Layden, Utah Jazz president, on a former player:
"I asked him, 'Son, what is it with you? Is it ignorance or apathy?'
He said, 'Coach, I don't know and I don't care.'"
