Broken Dynojet PV 1 Screen ***HELP***

While tuning my bike a month ago, the tuner slipped out of my hands and landed on my floorboard (rubber top) and broke the screen. Theres not even a mark on the plastic anywhere, the thing looks brand new sans the screen.

After almost a month, i called Dynojet again and got the news that "The screen was broken on point of impact and they couldnt fix it." All they could do so graciously, was to offer me ANOTHER EFFING TUNER FOR $300!!!!!

Does anyone know of a fix? A screen i can buy to replace it? Im done with Dynojet, thats the worst damn customer service ive ever heard of!

You sell a product you cant even fix??? If i had known, i would have never bought from them, and i dont plan to ever again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Usually screens on those types of products can't be fixed. Same is true for gps and plasma tv, yes I croaked the screen on a plasma tv when they first came out. I had the same argument with them that you can't sell a product that can't be fixed. They ended up sending me a new one for just a restocking charge. I would keep on them until they relent. You know the squeaky wheel gets the oil or grease, whatever you know what I mean. Good luck.

Thanks man. Its the biggest crock of shit ive ever heard of...

Already called back a few times and even left a nice little review on the BBB.

i got a deal and only paid $400 on the first one. So now, id be paying $300 for another one wrapping $700 up into a tuner. Not to mention that if i buy the new one for 300 that they wont even give me my old one back...

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.

Sad part is, i love the tuner, its my third dynojet tuner. Never would have expected such piss poor work from them.

I think they were pretty generous to offer you a $250 discount, considering it was not their fault that you broke it. Had they told you "tough luck" then that would be poor customer service.

And why would you leave a bad BBB review for your clumsiness? If you drop your Harley, do you expect the MoCo to replace it?

I can understand your frustration. But, it's not DynoJet's fault.

Sit down, have a beer.

My aggravation is the fact that i purchased a $400 tuner, the screen broke and zero effort was made to fix it.

Who the hell sells something that cant be repaired at all? I was willing to pay for SOME sort of repair cost, which would make sense, but for them to just say "sorry, you can buy another one though..."

Ive searched the website, if you can show me where its displayed somewhere that these products can not be repaired, please show me and i will retract my post.

How did it break ?

Ok, just reread the op. What if they charged you $300 for repair ? Would that be fair ? I think the post on bbb was unfair on your part.

Actually you purchased a $550 tuner for $400. So in theory, you were $150 ahead. So subtract that $150 from the $300 offer from DynoJet, and you're actually only out $150 for dropping it. I've made costlier mistakes

I'm not going to open mine up to look, but a lot of times small touch screen devices have the circuit board built on to the screen. I had a TomTom GPS that was made that way. I got a gouge on the screen, so it was a throw away.

In a case like that, most of the cost is in the screen, so repair is cost prohibitive.

Poor customer service would have been for them to have you send it in, and charge you $300 to fix it, instead of offering to replace it for that price.

Totally agree. The OP dropped the unit and it broke, sucks, but that's the way it is.

No, it's probably not repairable. I haven't seen the inside of a Power Vision, but any product that's designed to be permanently mounted on the handlebars of a motorcycle is most likely a fully potted design, basically the case is full of epoxy. An assembly like that is not only labor intensive(cost prohibitive) to repair, but very likely to be further damaged trying to do the repair.

Yep, $300 sucks, be glad they didn't tell you to go pound sand.......

I hear you guys.

Just seems insane to me that they can/will sell something that costs as much without the ability of repair.

Like i said, if it were on the site with a warning or detailed in warranty information then i would have looked somewhere else.

I cant help that i got a good deal on it but it looks like my good deal has been cancelled out now.
