Cats

Riders,
What does removing the cats do, does it throw a code? Pro-con. I removed my baffles, will removing cats make it noticeably improved ?

[SIGPIC]2015 RGS and 2011 ZX14-muzzy pipes, PC-5 w/AT. Hyperlink steering damper, 6" in the rear, -1 in front+2 in rear, secondary flies gone, second fan welded, tires have balance beads instead of weights. Nitro instead of air. K&N AF

You will lose a lot of low end torque running wide open pipes.

2010 FLTRX , Stage 1, 13" Madstad, Mono tubes, SuperShox, Heritage style bars. Alpine CDE-HD149BT,Soundstream Picasso Nano Series PN4.520 , 5X7 and 6.5 Infinity Kappa speakers
If I have to explain ,you wouldn't under stand anyway.

Put the baffles back in and take the cats out . I drilled mine out , others have it cut open and removed and welded back up ..

No codes , sounds 'like it's supposed to' according to my spousal unit , doesn't feel choked down all the time , runs cooler .

I gained 386.74598 ft lbs of torque at 174859.652315 rpm and 350 hp at 164581.602658 rpm ..

My 103 Stage IV picked up 8 horses and 10 torque using same mufflers with a FM2-1-2.

Imagine trying to exhale with a sock on your mouth.

At Stage 1 power levels, not a huge bottleneck. The bike will run cooler, but it will also run louder.
