De-cat Harley headers

I am wondering if anyone on the website has put De-catted Harley headers on their 2014-2015 RGS. I have them on my 2015 RGS along with Cobra 4" mufflers and an FP3 with the Generic tune flashed into the ECM. The bike is running pretty nice except for the decel pop which I just changed to level 2. That should remedy that problem. I have also run an autotune for several sessions and flashed that. The bike is really running pretty well. My question is, has anyone used a different map with this setup even if the mufflers are different than Cobras. I've been told most 4" mufflers are not going to be that much different in flow with mild upgrades. I haven't installed a hi-flo filter yet because I didn't want to run too lean until I get the A/F ratios adjusted with the De-cats. I've also been told the De-cat headers are similar in flow to the V&H Powerduals but not exactly. Any thoughts or map suggestions on this setup would be appreciated.

LOL
Well I can tell you for sure that know buddy has de-catted headers on their 2014 RGS because they didn't make the RGS until 2015. Remember the 2014 year the RG was being re-designed. As far as the flow being the same as a the V&H Power Dual, find that hard to believe as well. The V&H PD's are a totally different setup.

I'm just saying brother.
LOL

NN you will need to get the hi-flo intake installed before you can get your A/F set. Even if you get it close without the hi-flo, as soon as you put it on, you've changed the dynamics of the way the engine breaths and you'll be lean again.

From all my research on de-catting the stock headers, there is no gain or change in engine performance, just a little more exhaust note.

The de-catted header and the V&H are no where near the same. The stock header was designed to have the cat material in there to get max flow, once the material is taken out, the flow dynamics inside the chamber have changed. The V&H was designed for max flow with out cat material inside.

I run the Mastertune TTS. I was looking at decatting the stock headers or spending the $$$ on new headers or crossover. After reading through the pertinent information, there is not enough gain of bang for the buck to go with new and the time spent to decat with no gain was not worth it.

On a stock motor I agree with you, in fact I know a guy picked up 6 torque going to a aftermarket headpipe. 6 torque is nothing (could be the run, the temp, the humidity, fuel that day).

My advice to the OP is dial in the sound you want (headpipes/mufflers) and get a TTS and a well known tuner and forget about popping, too lean/hot, too rich/poor MPG and ride that RG.
