Starts but doesn't stay running

I have an 05 RG with an 04 engine, stroked to a 96", set of woods geared cams, heads p&p with new conical valve springs and over sized intake valves, VH 2 into 1 pro-pipe, an Arlen Ness big sucker air cleaner, and a t-max with an auto tuner. Yea I know its a Frankenstein with approx 180k miles, but until last Sunday, it would run like a BOOH. Know that you know what I have, here is my problem. It started all of a sudden, parked the bike Friday night, ran fine. Fired it up Sunday, and problem begins. Its starts and revs to about 2000 rpms' for about 20 seconds and then starts to die. I roll on and off the throttle and that keeps it going for a little while longer, but eventually dies. I changed the fuel-filter because it was restricted. The air is not restricted. I don't have a fuel pressure tester to test the pressure (if anyone knows of a good inexpensive one, let me know). Has anyone ever experienced something like this? I have not recently changed anything or adjust anything on the bike. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You said it revs to 2,000 RPM. Does it do that on its own, or with you controlling the throttle? May be the Idle Speed Control motor (IAC). I would not go and start replacing parts. That gets expensive.

First thing to do with any EFI bike is to make sure that the battery is charged, and in good working order. Next, pull any trouble codes that may be stored. Then google "Harley starts then dies". If you have the service manual there should be a diagnostic flow chart that can help you figure the issue out.

Just did the Google thing myself. This may be your problem. Check out post #5 in this thread:

Is the bike a carb or FI model?? The T-max module should allow you to access the DTC codes so see if you have any DTC's first.
You could have a fuel pressure problem if the bike is FI model, it isn't uncommon for the fuel lines on your year model bike to have cracked fuel lines inside the fuel tank which will result in air in the fuel system.
Also with the age and mileage on the bike the fuel pump may be going bad.

Thanks for the info, the engine would rev on its own that high. Also I removed the main fuse, removed the battery and charged it at 2 amps, installed the battery and main fuse. I cycled the main switch for 30 seconds on and off for 3 times to reset the t-max. I replaced the fuel filter because it had almost a black colored liquid coming out of it and was almost blocked. Replaced it and still does the same thing. I noticed a small crack on the item (on the ear and barely touching the housing) that connects to the fuel filter and then connects to the hose that runs to the pump. Since it is cracked I plan on getting another one in the morning and replacing that. Once I get all items that are cracked etc... replaced I will start the trouble shooting again. First I will try post number 5 as stated above.

Iron Mark, it is FI. I cant check for codes yet. The baffle on the pro-pipe is broken and has codes for that. The new baffle just arrived tonight and will have it all installed in the morning.

An update, got it to run more that 15 seconds. I pretty much eliminated the fuel (liquid portion) system. Last thing I did was disconnect the tps and un-bolt it. I held it in place, started it up and rotated it till it ran better, at least not die out. I am going to check the throttle body and butter fly valve. Couple years ago, I had one go bad, the shaft actually broke near the bearing.
