Power Vision question

Hey guys. I'm very new to the tuning world, but recently my buddy of mine have me his power vision from the bike that he had traded in. It was the power vision 2. Like I needed. I purchased a license from power vision

My question is, will I have to purchase the Unlock License also?

I connected the power vision to my bike and it says "Unable to connect ECM"

I'm I going to need to purchase the unlock ($200), anddddd a ($200) license?

Will the unlock automatically give me the 1 tune

Did you purchase the license on line thru Winn Pv?

I believe you only need the unlock license but I'm not 100% sure.
Call the guys at Fuel Moto.
They're very helpful and will get you set up.

if you bought the license, you should be good. usually, you get the 'unable to connect' error if you have your ignition on but not the kill switch.

I understand the concept of reality, but find it too confining for a way of life.

Ya I purchased the license from win pv. I'll have to try it again when I get home, maybe I had the kill switch on.

It should still work though right? With it not being married to my bike? But with the tune license I purchased, it should work?

it's been a while since i did mine, but my pv has 3 licenses attached to it. there is a procedure that you have to go through to upload the license to your pv. if you are having a problem, call dynojet customer service, or fuelmoto. either/both should be able to help you.

Every ECM has an identification code and that is what the license is based on. The PV should be hooked to bike and then you need to read the ECM information. That is the stk file that dynojet needs to issue the new license. If you send them the info without the new stk file from your bike the license you receive will actually be for the last bike the PV was on

Once you do the unlock correctly the Power vision will work as if you purchased it new. You can tune the bike all you want.
As others have said you have to follow the instruction and do it right.
You should like the Power vision once you get it figured out , simple effective tuner with a lot of other tools to use in it.

Hey guys. This morning a had a few min to look into my issue. Bikes on, run switch on, PV says Unable to detect ecm.

I looked at the diagnostic port, to realize there is only 5 pins in there on mine. I'm hoping this is the issue. If so, I should be able to replace the pin in the connector right?
