help with new purchase.

Hey everyone, new to this forum and need some advise. I'm considering trading my beloved 2002 roadking classic on a 2016 velocity red roadglide special.
I can't imagine leaving the fuel/exhaust stock. What's the best way to go? Have dealer do the screaming eagle stage 1 or bring it home stock and go with Fuel Moto setup. I would like to go with the vance and hines pipes. Suggestions?

I can only tell you what I have and that I am totally happy with it. V&H True Duels, Monster Squares, Grenade intake and FP3. It took me about 5 hours to complete and it is AWESOME!!

I would take it home and put pipes on it. The stock air filter on the new ones is adequate and doesn't need to be changed like the older bikes need to. Everyone has there own flavor. I run a Rhinehart 2 into one and it was quiet stock. I just put 57H cams in it and have a nice sound I've been missing. 2016 cams are a lot better than the 2011 mine came with though. Welcome to the board.

2011 Road Glide Ultra, Andrews 57H, VeeTwin Performance street port, Big Sucker Intake, Rhinehart 2/1 w 4" muffler, Power commander V, Paugcho 17" bars, Stock seat recovered with leather, Michelin Comander II 140/80B front, Yokohama Envigor 205/60/16 rear. It's better on the dark side.

Id say depends on how much cash you got laying around. I sure would have loved to have all the exhaust done before i got mine but figured I would save the cash now and save up for something later. Give me some time to listen and to read about what to get down the road. But now if money were no object then that would be another story.

I have an 02 RG free breathing ( KN) on the way in, and 103 mufflers for the way out. Runs well and a great sound.
I have a 2015 RG. Street Cannons on the out KN will be going on/in the in (the box it's self is designed for better performance). The cat has to be assessed yet..
But (with very little and none needed) you already have so much more bike.
Enjoy it as is, it is good to GO, just quiet.
After a while give it the extras and then enjoy the new boost.
This way you have the time to see and feel the changes so as to do it right the first time.

I'd have to say save your money from buying an FP3 and just get the dealer stage 1 download. Not at all happy with the 2 out of 3 I tried. Unless you're planning more than just stage 1 in the future. Then go with Fuel Moto stuff. They even make a better pipe than V&H.

gut the cat and get your bike tuned. Pipes make a big difference so do your research. 2 into 1 pipes make more torque but don't look as cool as true duels. I like the Fuel motto pipes because it reuses the factory chrome (At least it does for my 11) and you can buy a better connecting pipe so it acts more like true duels. For true duels I like Rhineharts pipes because it is a real 2 into 2 kit. Rhinehart's 2 into one is a great torque producer with the 4" muffler. I have heard Boarzilla is good too but loud. Vance and Hines makes good sound but I haven't heard much as far as performance.

Stay away from V&H Monster rounds, the chrome on the end caps flake after awhile. I've had two sets and both did the same thing, called V&H they know it's a problem but won't do anything but sell you more caps at a discount. They sound great with power duals but others do as well.
