Vance & Hines Fuelpak FP3

Thinking of purchasing the FP3. Looks like it will do everything needed with an easy installation. I presently have a 2017 Streetglide special and was posting to see if anyone has any thoughts on it.

You're going to open Pandora's Box with a question like that!!!!! Short answer, it's a good unit and a lot of guys like using it- it's definitely one of the standards for auto tuning. A few things to keep in mind- it will void your warranty according to the Motor Co. If you have a dealer who is "after market friendly", you might get away with still getting warranty work done on the bike, should you need that.... however, if you travel, someone will be sure to note that you might have a hard time with another dealer, so be prepared for that.

Overall, it's a great unit, with a lot of functionality and a lot of guys use it. There is a GREAT review of the FP3 floating around here somewhere that breaks down how to use it and how to maximize the tune etc. Well worth searching for and giving a one over before you make a decision.

Full V&H stg 1 with FP3. My dealer told me if I bought from them and they installed then I would still be covered under warranty. 2016 RGU.

Yea as long as you donít need warranty work done at another dealer.

I bought the FP3 for my 09 just before my riding season ended. I was able to put a canned tune in it just to try it out as the weather wouldn't allow me to ride it long enough for an auto tune. From my research the FP3 allows you to run an auto tune then it stores it so you can make several runs to complete the auto tune as some parameters take longer to set then others due to riding conditions. After you make a complete auto tune it will allow you to run that tune but it also saves it so you can restore the ECM to stock settings if need be. I believe it will allow you to save a few tunes for different configurations. Now with that said, my bike is a pre Rushmore bike but I'd imagine both versions of the FP3 do the same. If you are considering the FP3 I'd suggest calling V&H and ask them questions directly as they have, at least in my experiences anyway, fantastic customer service

I have the FP3 on my 16. And to my knowledge no dealers care. It's pre fine for HD and the 17s were the start on the no fun rule. My dealer told me they would void my warranty if I did anything myself. Son I bought the 16. Not the 17. That said. If you bought the FP3 and only changed the throttle response, it's worth it. It's that big of a difference from stock to standard plus.

Love mine , 11 Ultra .. Everyone has pretty much covered it all .. mine is stock except for gutting the cat , and they did not have a map for it , so I emailed them and they told me what to use ..
Took mine a while to initially load . Select the options for what type headers and mufflers etc . Load it , set the auto tune and ride ... First time I rode two rides and downloaded the auto tune for each ride and it did pretty good , but wasn't really happy with it . So I deleted those maps and started over .. Now not to worry it saves your factory tune and you cant remove that one .. So I rode for three or four days in auto tune and that included a road trip home from Shark Week . Then I downloaded that tune and shut off the auto tune . Fantastic now . RFG is right the throttle response feature is awesome , mine is two above standard . Think it's aggressive ? Also set the rev limit to 4000 .. If you have a phone mount , you can monitor everything while you ride ... That's the other nice thing , use your phone not a laptop to do everything . That being said , with a laptop tuner , you can sit at the computer and look at everything much easier , but isn't a big deal for me ..
And you can load several different maps .. I used to pull a trailer and will probably get another one soon .. I'll just hook up , set the tuner for a new auto tune and ride ..

Love my FP3. One of the best investments I've made.

I have had great success with mine. Modified intake, exhaust, and had decel pops bad (2016 RGU). Got rid of the pops and really smoothed it out. I recorded temps before and after the mods and the auto tune I did and temps were reduced right at 15 degrees. As RoadglideinMO said search for that earlier FP3 post. It had great info!
