“Close” canned PV tune safe enough for new cams?
I’m having Feuling 543 cams, lifters and a SE high flow oil pump/cam plate installed in my ‘16 Special - should be done today, get to ride home in the rain, YES! Guess that’s better then snow...
Anyway, I have a PV from FuelMoto, with a tune provided by them for my stage 1 setup - their E-series 2:1 pipe and HD heavy breather elite AC. The tune was excellent out of the box, and was able to squeeze a little more on a dyno.
So I asked Jamie for a tune for the pipe and AC, adding the Feuling 543’s. I also send him the full cam specs. He sent me back a tune he said should be “close” as he never tunes with those cams before.
I’m wondering (actually my OCD/paranoia is wondering) if that’s safe enough to ride for a while. It may be a month or so until I get her on a dyno. I’ll autotune a half dozen times or so, but that only does so much.
