SE tuner

Gliders, I have gotten a free SE tuner, (orange one) that was outlawed, ? Is should I even use it? I am at Stage 3 I think. Complete exhaust, SE breather, s&s 103 cams. Remember I got it for free, I have a PCV now but can’t find a matching map. Oh it’s a 15 RGS. Might do TB later. Have not been dynoed. Pro & Cons please of tuner

[SIGPIC]2015 RGS and 2011 ZX14-muzzy pipes, PC-5 w/AT. Hyperlink steering damper, 6" in the rear, -1 in front+2 in rear, secondary flies gone, second fan welded, tires have balance beads instead of weights. Nitro instead of air. K&N AF

if it's used, you aren't going to be able to use it anyway. like most flash based tuners, it gets married to the ecm.

if it hasn't been used, then you've got something that will be a lot more versatile than your pcv.

I understand the concept of reality, but find it too confining for a way of life.

I agree with Skratch. If its already been married to a bike. It can't be used to tune another one. It will allow you to view codes and sensor feeds though.

Not an expert in this field, but my understanding is that HD is supposed to buy all of those back as part of the settlement with Uncle Sam. So you may be able to fund a future purchase with it.

The MoCo only bought back the ones dealers had in stock. They have no interest in units that were already sold.

On the other forum there is a guy who claims there is a place on eBay that fixes the orange ones so they can be used again. I have no personal knowledge other than what I read.

When I bought my '17 RGU, I included Stage-1 with the purchase & negotiations. I have an orange tuner "bad boy" module as described in this thread. Did HD have to discontinue this tuner before April 2017 when I bought my bike? -Thanks in advance.

It takes at least three things to be lost. 1) Don't know where you are at, 2) Don't know how to get where you are headed, and 3) You have to "give a shit".
