Nightrider XiED

Does anyone have experience with these?

A little bit of back story, I assumed my RGU was bone stock. A coworker has a pair of CFR slip-ons from his '15 Street Glide that he has offered me for $250. I'm not new to the modification world and fully understand that these bikes are tuned lean from the factory to meet EPA requirements and putting on exhaust without also bumping up the intake and fuel management will not help that matter one bit. I found out that my bike already has an intake on it. I pulled the stock cover off and found a K&N filter 05035, called K&N to figure out what it was and the only thing that they have with that number is HD-0818 which is the high flow replacement filter for the SE intake kit. So I've got a handle on my air flow going in and out, now on to fuel. I currently have no plan whatsoever of major upgrades to the engine in the future (cams/head work/stroker/big bore/etc.) and enjoy the bike as is, would just like a nice exhaust tone. That being said, I don't see the need for an expensive programmer or a dyno tune. What I have read about the XiED setup is that it will bring the fuel management into where it needs to be for basic air cleaner and slip-on upgrades.

What do y'all think?

they work , used them on the 08Rg and this 11 before I put a tuner on it , VIED is an option also , it allows you to tweak it a bit ..

steve mullen has forgotten more about tuning harleys than you or i will ever know.

the nightrider did a lot of research on evos and twinkies, but hasn't divulged anything on the M8s (yet)

he usually answers emails promptly and is an extremely good resource for tuning questions.

I have had the Xied on my 2012 for 3 years, CVO pipes and K & N filter kit. All works and runs great especially if that's all you
are planning.

Ordered them last Monday and they came in on Thursday, I was pleasantly surprised that they gave me a free upgrade to the ViEDs. Got them installed along with the CFRs and love it. Still need to fiddle with the switches, I set them slightly on the high end from the instructions and it shows. I used to average about 210 miles per tank before the light would come on and over the weekend the fuel light came on at 192 on the first tank and 180 on the second so tonight when I get home from work, I'll adjust the dials down just a hair.
