Warranty ended!

Time to finish the stage I on my '17 RGS. So I called Fuel Moto and they fixed me up with a PV with a preloaded map. It took me 5 min to flash my ECU using this. Will play with autotune later.

As far as the AC goes, the Arlen Ness "Big Sucker " that I bought from FM is huge, and well made. Be warned, the install instructions suck, but install is pretty easy once you figure out what the parts are. Be sure to have grease and blue Loctite handy.

The bike is running great. The reason I went ahead and did this was to cool the engine down. I felt that is was running too lean stock, especially since I added slip ons. We shall see how that works out.

Slips on won't change how the bike runs very much as far as lean/rich conditions unless the cat is removed from the headpipe. That's where the exhaust flow is controlled.

Believe it or not but the slip-ons will have more to do with the flow than the CATS. The CATS do not affect the flow as much as you would think. That's why you can gut the CATS and not have to re-tune but if you change slip-ons and A/C you need to re-tune.

Does that mean on my 103, I can decat and use stock or cvo slip on's and stock A.C., not tune and get a cooler leg?

Yes. General rule of thumb, for a stock bike, is that you can change the A/C or change the slip-ons and not have to re-tune. If you change both you will need to re-tune. The CAT really doesn't come into play enough to worry about as far as the tuning. The CVO slip-ons might flow a little better than the stock standard slip-ons so if you ever install a more open A/C I would then re-tune.

In my experience, head temps went up about 20degreesF with the addition of just slip-ons, everything else stock. The bike was lean to begin with, made leaner with the addition of the V&H HOs I bought from SteadeEddy.

Love my V&H HOs. Sound great even with the CAT still in the headpipe..
