Momentary Hesitation (Hiccup)

I had posted this in the trouble shooting area and I received one response which I am going check the things Minivend suggested. I was hoping someone else would chime in. I have a 2010 Roadglide custom which has ran great for the last 22,000 miles. While cruising in the 2200 to 2800 rpm range the bike has a momentary hesitation (hiccup) without a lost in rpms, any thoughts? The following modifications had been done after the first 1000 miles. Screaming eagle air kit, 2009 stock HD headpipe with the O2 sensors eliminated, V&H mufflers, EJK Gen 3.0 tuner.

my 2102 does the same thing , sorry i can't tell you why it does that .

I don't know the answer or resolution... Don't know if this applies to your situation. But I've read talk on the interweb about how the Delphi ECM works with regard to long term trims, That it basically does a hard switch over to the tables which contain the altered values once the engine reaches a specific temperature. I think this is unique to running in open loop, but don't recall.

If you're encountering this cough more than once while riding, or after you've been riding for quite a while, then I'd say it's not the case. I would expect the cough to be within first 5 or so minutes of riding.

Have no idea if this is really true... just offering it up as a possibilty.

How are you running a tuner without an O2 sensor?

Or am I misreading your setup?

Have you checked your spark plugs??

I think it's pretty typical that a piggyback tuner eliminates the O2's sensors.

I am encountering the cough more than once and it happens after I have been riding for a while.

Yes, the plugs look a little lean.


Thanks to ironmark's thread, I checked the codes and three of them that were displayed P0031, P0134 and P0154 are related to the O2 sensors. When I talked with Dobeck Performance they said this was normal because the O2 sensors have been eliminated. This leaves me with P0505 any suggestions and what to check next?

Had the same issues with my 2012 103 but running with O2 after upgrade to aftermarket cams. Don't know if you can adjust your VE tables and air fuel with your tunner but after a good tunning all running great. Best is to find a reliable dyno tunner in your area to tunned. Good luck.

I think you need to be working with the brainchild that thinks running a basically stock bike with no O2 sensors is a grand idea. Makes no sense whatsoever to me.......

2015 RGU CVO........under continuous change......
