Question Fuel Pak

I have the VH Fuel Pak on my '07. The settings are a bit rich as by the evidence left on the rear after longer rides. After my return trip home from Fl. I noticed a difference in not only sound, but feel of the bike. It runs rough as hell now and will shake your taint while sitting at idle. It almost seems as though the rear jug isn't in time with the front any longer. My question to you in the know is, would the Fuel Pak effect the timming of the bike over time? I have noticed more "pops" between shifts now that get a bit worse with the hotter the motor. I have 11K on the bike and to my knowledge nothing else has been done to the motor. I'm not sure about the settings of the unit, but there is a digital display on the pak that is set at "1" on the left and "0" on the right. My plan is to contact VH for a leaner setting, but I'm just not sure if this is more of a timming issue. Anyway, I feel whatever is going on needs to be addressed. This Glide isn't running like the day I brought him home and I am looking for advice. Thanks to all that reply!

The first thing I would do is change the plugs. If you don't see an improvement call V&H's and tell them your problem. They will tell you what settings to change.

Plugs looked good before I left. I'm going to get some new ones tomorrow just because these have to be old. I haven't pulled them since I've been back, but the thought did cross my mind. The air filter was cleaned before I left for my trip, so I would think it would be fine too. I just wasn't sure if there are timming issuse that can arrise when these bikes (or any Harley) get over 10K on them. This is my second Harley, but the first one was built to the teeth and always had something going on with it.

I have a 2011 Road Glide Ultra which I just put on V&H's Power Duals and Monster ovals along with a HD stage one airfilter. I installed the V&H's Fuel Pak 61019 for the 2011's and wasn't pleased at all. I called tech support 4 times and we changed settings and it still ran rich, shook like no tomorrow and stall at some lights. I took it off and shwlled out the money for the SERT and Dyno time like I did with my old RoadKing, and it runs like a raped ape! I have seen a lot of good reviews of the V&H Fuelpak, but I don't think those people ever used a SERT before. Needless to say, I have a V&H Fuelpak for sale!

Well, CRAP! That isn't what I wanted to hear. What exactly is a SERT?? I'm sure that stands for something, but I've not heard it before..

My guess from experience is for you to call V&H and get the proper codes to put in. On my old bike I had to reset the codes after every service at the dealership because they always seemed to reflash it. You would think that the fuelpak would automatically reset itself being that it was hooked up, but it didn't, I would have to manually re-put in the codes and sync the throttle. Otherwise it would run rich also. Good luck with it
