new----sore.

I just purchased a Road Glide. I love it but now my lower back gets sore after only a half our on the bike.
So...I am thinking its the seat. Any recommendations?

Could be seat and or bars. If you are reaching/leaning too much that will put a bunch more pressure on those lower discs. What year bike and is it the stock seat? Also, what is your height and inseam?

If it's your tail bone, then yes the seat.

If its higher in your back, then try working with the bars.

I am confused. Your join date is 2013 and your sig says you have a 2013, but your post says you just bought a road glide. ???

New bars will make a huge difference for sure depending on what you select.

A different seat & different bars will make it even better.

Good Luck

1st - Seat with rider backrest (must have RBR) then,
2nd - Bars (bars before seat doesn't help you at all), and
3rd - maybe your leg position? Do you have highway pegs?

Sorry to confuse anyone.
I picked up my new 2018 'Glide this past Sunday.
When i start off on a ride, it all feels comfortable, but within several minutes...soreness begins. I have to more around for it to ease.
I was contemplating on where to start...bars or seat.
I can adjust the bars for nothing, but then again..if I get a new seat I can also adjust the bars.
Overall i was wondering if anyone had bought a new glide and had the same issues.
I am 5'11" with a 32 inseam.

I am similar height and inseam. Let me keep the bike for a week and I'll tell you if I experience similar problems.

Seriously, get with the fitment specialist at your dealership and check to make sure the shocks are adjusted properly (e.g., if air, at least 20 psi). If adjustments are needed, start with the bars, then the seat.

My FXR was killing my back. I changed the bars. No joy. Finally I re foamed my Mustang seat and no more back pain. I would never have guessed that the seat was causing back pain, but it was.
