Ultra Limited low seat

Hi. I used the search function but couldn't find an answer. Is the 2016 Ultra Limited Low seat any different than the stock seat on my 2015 RGS or is the difference in ride height on the Low all in the suspension? I'm looking to get about 1" closer to the ground to be more sure footed at stops. I'm 5'8" with a 30" inseam. I'd rather change the seat than mess with the suspension. Thanks!

I'm the same size as you. I don't have that much of an issue although stop and go stop and go bullshit city streets one has to stay alert. I slow and stop with the back brake only as the front can really throw you at slow speed if slight off center. Then put my left foot down and grab front brake then right foot down, pretty much all in one motion.

If anything my bet is the Ultra Low is taller (thicker) than your stock seat. But, if you're serious, I'd check one out at the closest dealer nearby that has one.

I'm sure you are aware that aftermarket seats as well as other Harley options abound.

I have a 2016 RGU which I have had a ultra limited low seat on since day one. The low seat is lower and narrower up front. It is more of a sit in than sit on seat. It will definitely give you a better reach to the ground. The back seat is bigger than than the RGS. Better for passenger

I too run the ultra limited low stock seat. It's definitely lower than my stock RG seat.

When I went to the local dealership to look at buying a new bike, I assumed I would be buying a Limited Low (Iím 5í7Ē) and when I sat on one, I could touch fine, but there was no bend in my knees. I then sat on a RGU, because I really wanted one, but just assumed it would be less of a fit. To my surprise, I actually had just a bit of bend in my knees. Not enough to feel solid, so I asked if they would put a Limited Low (Reach) seat on the RGU, and when they did, I had a very comfortable bend in my knees. That is why I bought the RGU (and a Reach seat).
