Sun shade for Zumo 665

I have the Road Tech Zumo 665 mounted on the Iron Aces mount. Although I like the location centered over the nacel, I find that if the sun is anywhere above or behind me I cannot see the screen and have to rely on the voice-over turn-by-turn. I have tried the stick-on screen overlay but with my polarized sunglasses I still can't see the screen. Has anyone fabricated a plastic or leather sun shield that can be Velcroed or slide/snaps in place?

Ride it like you stole it!!

I don't know about the 665 but the 660 and polarized sunglasses don't work well together. Turn your head sideways, or try a non-polarized pair of sunglasses, and you should see the screen lighten up. I have a really nice pair of polarized that I can't wear on the bike because of this.

Changing the angle so that it's at right angles to your eyes will also help...........

I had my Mrs. sew me up a shade for the car GPS. We just used some fabric from an unused set of gators I had (stiff, water proof material), sewed velcro on to it and added velcro to unit and voila! Having my 665 installed now and will use the same methodology. Or, you can pay $18.87 and buy one at www.glarestomper.com.

I use this one from Touratech. It is flexable and you can fold it to store it easily. Unfortunately, the Iron Aces mount is too low from the horizontal vision height while on the bike. You would do better with a more oblique angle of the sun-to-GPS mounting like up on the handlebar.

If your not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room...

Just ordered the stick on stuff but I bookmarked glarestomper in case it doesn't work. I wear Maui Jim's so I may not be able to see the screen with their anti-reflective coating on my glasses.

I moved mine from the iron aces mount to the handle bar mount that came with the unit and that allowed me to point it away from the sky and get it closer to me. that alone reduced 90% of the glare I was experiencing.

it doesn't look as cool but it works way better.

I use a glare Stomper. I also have the anti-glare film on the screen too...

Still not 100%, but getting better...
