Navi Question

I did read the manual and than created a trip on the HD ride planner on their site. It seems everything went correctly and I downloaded the trip from the HD site to a flash drive. It appeared to download to my Navi on my 2015 RGS just fine.

When I pull up the route under the trip section, it shows the route I downloaded and I select that trip. When I select "show route" it does not show the route I created, it shows a totally different route, one that would match if I just entered the address I wanted to go to in the Navi.

What am I missing, thanks for any suggestions

There's another thread, infotainment woes, I think. Basically harley ride planner does not export enough data points to keep the route the same on the bike.

Base camp is a great system to use that works flawlessly, but you will want to shoot yourself trying to learn it. Once the learning curve is over which takes a long time, it works like a charm.

I use the Garmin Zumo 660 on my other bikes. The nice thing about a removable GPS is that I can create a custom route on the unit in the comfort of my home.

The nice thing about the Harley Unit is controlling it from the handlebars, and it automatically comes up when I hit low fuel.

Navi Question

I thinking of using the Apple Maps app or Map Q app to follow directions when needed from my cell using bluetooth.

Add in more waypoints to force it to follow the exact route you want.

I going to play around doing that and see how well that works. I have an apple laptop using FireFox and it seems it will not let me add more than 1 waypoint. I will have to try another web browser to get more added I guess.

Thanks for the info

I use Firefox and can enter multiple waypoints. Law Abiding Biker has an instructional video on the Ride Planner; haven't tried it yet (it's not one of the free ones), but if like Ryan's other videos it should be good.
I have a trip to California and rtn stored right now that I need to go back in to edit. I was told that I should make each day a separate trip, so that what I'll be working on.
