Answer cell phone and hear loud ticking sound

This I not really a nav question but possibily someone might reply. Just got a 2016 FLTRXS. When I answer my cell on the screen. I can hear the caller. They can't hear me. And I can hear a loud static sounding Ticking noise. Any thoughts about the problem or an adjustment?

You can hear the caller because you have speakers connected to a Bluetooth device which links to your phone. The caller can't hear you unless you've got a microphone hooked up to the same Bluetooth device.

The FLTRXS "infotainment system" doesn't have a built in microphone. Unless they started doing so in '16. To get that functionality on my '15, I'd have to install a microphone. There's a thread on this forum for a cheap DIY mic.

If I want to talk to somebody that badly, I'll pull over. If they want to talk to me that badly, I'll get the voicemail and call them when I want.

If you want an electronic leash, you might just as well be in a cage.

Same could be said for anyone wanting an infotainment system, navigation, glove boxes, cup holder, 12v power source, heated seats, heated grips, etc. etc.

WTF!? Never answer the phone while you're riding! What the hell is wrong with people these days. If you want to talk on the phone, stay in your cage. (SARCASM & HUMOR)

I like to listen to music when I ride. Before I got my (pre-Rushmore) Road Glide, I used an in-helmet BT setup linked to my phone. The one thing I hated about it was that it would auto-answer any phone call I got.

First thing I did to the RG was hack the radio and hardwired a BT receiver to the aux input. It only does A2DP audio (not phone audio, at all). It works great! I get MP3s, Google Maps directions and NO phone calls.

Anyway, I get back from my first ride with the new setup and the wife asks, "How come you didn't answer the phone when I called?"

"The new BT receiver I installed doesn't do phone calls."

"That's BS. Put the old one back in your helmet."

"Nope. This one keeps me from being interrupted by your frivolous phone calls while I'm riding."

Wife didn't talk to me for a week after that. Good times.

Strange first post. Makes me think you are not really into forums but joined up because you have a problem. You may or may not ever check any of the responses or post here again.

With that said, please provide more detailed information about your set up. What are you using to listen to, and respond to phone calls? Do you have a helmet headset?

No Phone While Riding For Me.

Yes my bike has it all but that's one item I could care two shits about.

Why would you need to talk on the phone while riding?

Just curious man.

My phones go in the saddlebag. I'll check for messages when and if I care to while out enjoying the ride. No interruptions needed or wanted here.
