Replace gauge with a GPS mount

Has anyone replaced a gauge with a GPS mount? I have the Iron Aces Mount but don't know if I like the look of having my GPS/Phone there anymore.

I've got the iron aces mount also and found it to be blocking the view of the time on the stereo head unit. took the slip grip mount and re drilled it so it mounted 1/4 inch lower now it is great in perfect line of sight now if i could just see the Samsung screen in the sunlight I'd be set.
seetiggergo and RGReno like this.

Never heard of doing it this way. Is this a kit or something that you have to make on your own?

Would be great if MoCo would update the Boom system with Apple Car Play and Google so that the phone could just e stored in a compartment out of sight.

I have an actual meaningful gauge where the ambient temp unit was. My radar detector is mounted right on top of the dash, where I might see it in time for it to do me some good. It's kind of hard to hear out on the road.

Same with my GPS, it's up where I can see it without looking away from the road.

I can swap the GPS out for whatever I need at the time. Or just take it off.
