Can you see the GPS

My 2018 RGU shipped from the factory a couple days ago. I have been riding a Rushmore Ultra Limited since 2014. One thing I am wondering is, are there problems seeing the GPS? On the Ultra Limited its in my face. I am wondering if on the RGU if there is more glare since it is sitting at an angle and farther from the rider?

There is glare. It all depends on how sunny it is and where the sun is. I have seen some screen protectors that are supposed to help but I haven't looked into them too much and just deal with it.

There's been a few times where I could not see the screen due to the glare. But very few in over 20K miles. There are threads on this forum that you can search for that where it has bothered others much more than me.

^ what they said. Y can see if fine, except for those few times where the sun is behind you at that right angle. It doesn't really bother me too much either.

There is definitely a difference in a Batwing fairing and a Shark when it come to viewing the screen. I never had an issue on my 14 SGS. On a 17 RGS there are times where I can't see a thing when the sun hits it from the right direction.

I've had very little in the way of issues with it. There are bound to be certain times or angles that will render it a bit tougher to see than others.

What he said. Driving in the desert most of last summer only a few moments when the sun was aligned just right.

That's what high contrast mode is for in the display settings. When the suns behind me I hit that mode and problem solved.

Thumbs up

What everyone else said. If your using the GPS nav, just tape a map over it and get where you are going faster, it will also take care of the glare.

+1 for High Contrast Mode!!!! Just press and hold the "info" button on your handlebar controls for 2-3 seconds and it will change the view so you can see everything clearly with the glare. That should solve the problem for you.
