crazy Madstad question

any possibility at all that at high speeds ( 70 mph and above) the madstad would cause a poor performing front end? Possibly a weird lift due to the design? No down force ? Just asking , Ive had one for a while and love it but at high speeds in turns my front end dances around. have a killer front end, did steering head adjustment. next is new tires, just got michelin commander 2's. but I'm thinking this shield at high speeds might be a problem

I've seen others report this "floating" phenomenon on here. I angled mine where it would SEEM like it should acheive this. While I was buffeted aruond at 80mph it surely didn't make the front end dance at all.

Aerodynamically, I don't see how that could happen. The Madstad is pointed and angled more like a spoiler that would give "down force" as opposed to canted up like a wing that is designed to give "lift."

Perhaps the down force is making the front wheel "stick" better and thus you are feeling more of the road at the front of the bike?

This is my second year with my Madstad. Had the front end adjusted in 2011 and now running a new front tire. I was cruising down interstate I95 this afternoon doing 70+MPH. Madstad adjusted to 59 degrees with top edge around chin height. Its lower than I usually have it set doing Highway speed. Radio level a 50% playing MP3 from my I phone. I figured I need to break in my new front tire before I feel rock solid ride. Other then the side gusts I was very surprised how sweet the ride felt. (58-64 degree shield tilt) wouldn't be enough to give the front end lift to make it feel that light IMHO. Madstad did wind tunnel testing I expect. MAX open is 55 degrees and full close is 70 Degrees with my Robo bracket. Maybe someone with more experience could give us more info. Any Pilots out there?

No problems at any speed up to 110 with my 16" on the old fashioned brackets...

I been at highway speeds a few times ,and noticed no difference than the other shields I've run. I would think the fairing it self give more lift than anything. Isn't that way the Moco keeps tilting it more and more ?

2010 FLTRX , Stage 1, 13" Madstad, Mono tubes, SuperShox, Heritage style bars. Alpine CDE-HD149BT,Soundstream Picasso Nano Series PN4.520 , 5X7 and 6.5 Infinity Kappa speakers
If I have to explain ,you wouldn't under stand anyway.

I concur with others here as well.
I do not believe there is enough aerodynamic forces to make that big of a difference.
