Windshield/Fairing fitment

Is it common for the inner fairing to rub on the windshield and wear through the coating on the bottom?

If so, do the three piece trim kits cover this up?

Yes, common, but you can't really see it when mounted. I don't think the 3 pc RG trim covered where it rubbed, someone else who has one can answer. Some kits come with a small strip of foam to help hold the shield off the fairing but they eventually compress and allow contact. I've used a sharpie to cover from the inside if I had the shield off.

If I remember right, my inner has a piece of trim on the edge. I don't recall seeing any rub marks on my windshield.
