Windshield help

Currently I am running a 12" Klock Werks windshield and I am finding that I get a good bit of wind over 50 mph. My GADS are on the way and I am curious to see how that helps but I still feel I may be searching for a bit taller of a windshield. I like the look of the Windvest and the LRS Mako and that they still have the lip to push the air up and over. I am wondering on what people are running who are of similar size to me. I am 6' 1" with a 32" inseam, running and 06' RG with a stock 05' Ultra Classic seat and I ride with a slight slouch. I know there will maybe be the madstad comment thrown in here but I'm not too keen on the looks.

I have a 14" LRS on my 09 RG with lowers. I recently put a Mustang seat on that moved me up a bit. The shield works very well.
I'm 6', 32" inseam. LRS recommended a 13". I went 14" and am glad I did. I can see over it just fine.

I had an LRS on my RGU and forum member chromeyellow67 has a Windvest on his '12 RG. Very similar and both work great. You won't go wrong with either once you figure out what size works best for you.

Best way to figure out what would work is to set a ruler on the top of the radio housing leaned vertical against the shield that is on there. Sit on your bike in normal riding position and have someone stand in front and get down at eye level and see where the area between your nose and upper lip hits on the ruler. That will be the vertical height that would work best for you.

Thanks for the advise guys. I will have to try the ruler test. I did check the height of the KW last night compared to the measurements that LRS gives from the top of the radio and it came in just under 7" but it was on and angle so, striaght up measurement may be a bit shorter. I like the LRS due to the price point as I have already put some money into accessories and need to watch myself Anybody around my height find the 15" to be better? I want to make sure I don't go too short again.

To get an accurate vertical height use the ruler vertically and lay a yardstick horizontal laying on the top edge of the shield and use a small level.

The thing about the KW shields is they are more radically flared and contoured. Seems like they would let more wind get around the sides. The WV and LRS are more upright and wider so you get more wind deflection.

I am currently running the 14" Cee Bailey Cee Glide. I am 5' 10" with 32" inseam and have the Corbin Touring seat. I look over the top and can ride without face shield. I get virtually no head buffeting.

bucketlisthd, I did some measuring tonight as recommended by the comments here. At 8 inches above the radio it seemed like it would be a little high which is what LRS says the 14" sits at. You said you put a Mustang seat on that moved you up, how was the shield before that? How far over the shield do you look? And also, would you be able to put up a couple pictures of your bike with the shield on it?

I looked over the 14" LRS about 2" using the stock seat, which is lower profile than an Ultra seat. I also looked over the stock tall shield which is 15" I think.
LRS tints are dark. This is a light tint.
