Mini Madstad for '15 Roadglides

As you might recall, I was lucky enough to test out the new Madstad for the '15 RGs, and one suggestion was to make a shield small enough to fit inside a tourpak. Once again, Mark comes through and I had it on my door to test out. I used it all last week and it performs just as good as the normal size. The only difference I can tell is the air on the sides is right at the end of the handlebars; the normal size shield pushes the air out farther past the bars.
So why a smaller shield? Easy, more versatility and security. I can now take the shield off anytime I want and still have it with me. An added bonus is now I can lock it up in the tourpak for additional security; it might even fit inside a saddlebag ... I'll try that tomorrow. Here's some pics

The only change I could see for the mini-madstad would be to remove the center air vent cutout and follow the side lines for the bottom edge. This would make the shield even smaller with no change is functionality.

Here's some pics:

Another way it fits with the lid closed

Just another satisfied Madstad customer

Front shot ... Maybe trim bottom and follow the chrome windshield cover lines.

All the way down and up.

Looks really cool. It doesn't even look that small. How easy do those bottom nuts come off ? They were pretty close to the fairing on the pre 14 glides.

Gary,

I can get it off in about 30 seconds and the fastener wheels are about 1 1/2 - 2" from the lower shield. The lower holes (closest to the fairing) are permanent slide fasteners, so you only have to loosen the 2 upper mounts via a spring loaded fastener.

Well I may the first with the fixed configuration, just can't find a reason to take take it off. Mounted the 13" shield, made a minor hight and angle adjustment, and to be honest, have not had to tune it in, remarkable!!! I set tall in the saddle, and I'm barely a 1/4" from bottom, so some may want to change stock hole placement to accommodate the adjustment, seems that with the 2015, you either sit lower in the saddle or, due to new fairing design, the base seems to be higher, doesn't take much over the base mount to fix your needs, at least for me, I''m hearing my radio at 70+, so it works for me. Thanks Cody and Mark, great customer service and a great product (no I'm not being paid, it just Works!!!! Plain and simple. Dare you to try one.
