I am overwhelmed by the windshield choices for bikes these days. There are the MoCo choices, the Kury, the National Cylce Windvest, the Cee Bailey's, the Klock Werks, etc. I have searched this subject, but I am looking for new thoughts now that new windshield types are emerging. This is not new, but it is to me. Below please see a video illustrating differences between polycarbonate and acrylic windshields. Pretty impressive video if you ask me. Again, I have read about this topic, but the video is new to me and the opinions will be new to me as well. Also, anyone know what the real difference is between the National Cycle V Stream and the Wave? Thanks.

Well, you left off one big category in your poll selection and that is the Windvest.

As far as the RG goes I think the 2 biggest favorites are the Cee Bailey's and the Windvest. With the Madstad gaining popularity.

To me National Cycle, Kury and Klock Werks could be the "other" category.

I run a Windvest. But love the looks of the Cee Bailey.

+2 for the Windvest

Cee Bailey's Fan here! I've owned almost every shield out there and the Cee Bailey's is the perfect balance of Form / Function to me. I do believe the Clearview and Windvest offer better overall protection, but prefer the appearance & shape of the Cee Bailey's. :)

I think you need to decide what style you want first...more of an upright version or the sleeker version. I have both the Windvest & CeeBailey Euro windshields.

Windvests are more upright and offer great protection. CBs are a more swept-back style that doesn't offer quite the protection for the same installed height as a Windvest. But since I liked the swept-back style, I obtained a CeeB Euro in a taller size and I'm satisfied.

Its a tough call which only you can make.

That said, I'd get the seat you want BEFORE buying any windshield(s), as a different seat can change your seated height and therefore what WS height you need.

I had a national cycles v stream, it worked good until I changed to a road zeppelin seat.I sat up too high for the v stream. Installed a madstad,it's great, like a stereo upgrade.I've since changed to a mustang seat,I could give the v stream another try but the madstad is #1.

My 07 had a v-stream when I purchased it an I think it was VERY complimentory to the look of the bike but was not a good shield at highway speeds. Now use a Windvest and love it.

I've tried standard HD shields, Cee Bailey, Klockwerks and windvest in various sizes in that order. Found I liked the Windvest the best out of these, but went looking for more and ended up with the Madstad product with both the 13" and 16" shield.

All I can say is that while the Windvest was GOOD, the Madstad out performs it once dialed in by a long shot and I've kind of gotten use to the look on the bike.

Wish I would have found the Madstad first and saved some bucks.

A couple of additional thoughts. I am surprised that I forgot about the Bagger Shield and the Madstadt, since I had read about them but ultimately got confused, thinking they were one and the same due to the adjustablity factor.

What are all these shields made out of though? At least from what I've read, there is an enormous difference between polycarbonate and acrylic with respect to durability and impact protection, as in a whole order of magnitude. Are these claims correct?

Please note that I am NOT affiliated with any manufacturer, and currently do not even have a windshield (!!!), so I am TRULY unfamiliar with all this new (to me) information. Polycarbonate video below. Thanks again.

Windvest is the best by far at this point !! Rumor has it that Long Ride Shields is going to be introducing a new shield called the Mako and will have sizes from 7" up to 18". They have the Phantom now which goes up to a 10". I used their "Ultra" shields on my Batwings in the past and they were great !!

Windvest get's the Thumbs up again here for my vote. Remember it's about Function & looks that is best for you...imo way too many people are concerned with the buffeting issue...it's a motorcycle...your going to have wind & rain in your face...I don't care who say's what....none are much better than the other....just find one YOU like....

Cee Bailey

the Cee Bailey's works great for me. Their sizing chart was a big help. The airflow is so much better than the WindSplitter from MoCo, but admittedly, that was a 12" size, so of course it would. Since putting it on, I get a lot more compliments than I did on the WindSplitter or stock shield.

I just voted on Cee Bailey TRSSC .Ive had 2and for solo I love it , love the look and they work well for me.

But if I were to go with the more conventional style with a lip I go LRS. I tried a Phantom 12" and for less than $100 great deal and good people to deal with abd I understand they wil soon be offering taller shields

+1 I have bought a few WS's so far. IMO, the stock height Clearview is the only WS that was a functional improvement over the stock windshied. The others really looked good, but they did nothing to block wind.

Now, that being said, there are a few newer designs out there now like the Bagger Shied, Madstad, etc, since I bought my CV. But, I am done paying (roughly) 200 bucks everytime I want to try a new design. It can get very pricey trying out windshields.
