Chosing your Klock Werks FLARE™

Hey Everyone!

Weston here from Klock Werks! I hope you are all doing well! As we prepare for winter I wish everyone of you the best on winterizing your bikes and also on any project you plan to complete on them this winter. For those of you who live somewhere that you can easily ride all year long... congratulations on living the dream!

Part of my job here at Klock Werks is to find ways to help fellow riders out and provide better understand of our products. I've read through many threads today about windshields, there are so many brands and choices out there it very hard to choose. Although I'd like to convince you that there is truly only one choice, sometimes are shield just isn't a fit for you. However, reading through all these posts I've notices that no one knows exactly how to pick the correct height of FLARE™ 90% of the customers we have that experience problems do so because they have purchased the wrong height of shield.

Because everyone is built different you CAN NOT rely on someone who is the same "Height" as you. Inseam and torso length, along with ride height of your bike, how tall your seat is, all play into selecting the correct shield.

Today I will explain the correct way to measure and select the FLARE™ that's right for you!

YOU WILL NEED:

*Tape Measure*
*Measuring assistant*
*Your best judgment*

FOR 1998-2013 FLTR's
-sit on the bike in riding position and have the assistant measure from the rubber strip up. You want your shields tip to fall between your lip and nose. Where ever that measurement falls for you is the shield you would want to get. For example, if you measure it out and between your lip and nose is 14' you would want a 14' shield!-

FOR 2015+ FLTR's
-as before sit on the bike and have your assistant measure from the top of your vent, straight up. once again you'll want to find the measurement that falls between your lip and nose. unlike before, the measurement and the actual shield size will not match.

IF measurement is 6" you will want a 9" Sport FLARE™
IF measurement is 9" you will want a 14" Sport FLARE™
IF measurement is 10" you will want a 12" Pro Touring FLARE™
IF measurement is 12" you will want a 15" Pro Touring FLARE™

I hope this helps!!!

Weston!

I am not yet. I am hoping to generate enough buzz on here to show my bosses that forums such as this one are a valuable tool, and that we should offer discounts and contribute to the forum itself to keep it going! What I can say is right now you can get free shipping on orders over $195.00 also free shipping coming soon for the holidays!

Will you clarify what point you mean when you say, "you measure from the rubber strip up"?

Thanks for the measuring protocol. I like the fact that your shields don't add lift to the front of the bike.
