Freedom shield & HD chrome trim? Has a gap

I have had a 12 inch freedom shield on my 05 for couple years and love it. I got a hair to add the HD chrome trim and what a pain in the A$$ that was. It was easier installing cams and chain tensioners than this damn piece of chrome! LOL Anyway I got it on but the ends of the chrome don't sit down flush on the fairing and its driving my ocd head nuts. it sets good in front but has a gap out on the ends. I'm sure its probably due to the fact the Freedom is thicker than stock wind shield. Anyone been through this? I considered ditching the wellnuts and using an elaborate setup of chrome 1/4-20 screws and nylon spacers and nylock nuts and slotting the end 2 holes to make this look right?? Just curious if anyone has had sucess with the chrome on a thicker windshield like the Freedom?

I hope not, because I have the chrome piece and have been looking at upgrading to a freedom shield. I don't want to run into this problem either. Would like to know as well.

Maybe a note to John at Freedom to see if he knows about this issue? I have heard he is pretty great with his cust service.

C'mon, it's Czechoslovakia. We zip in, we pick 'em up, we zip right out again. We're not going to Moscow. It's Czechoslovakia. It's like going into Wisconsin.

Ill call if I get time, he was great to deal with when I ordered my shield. Sorta figured someone else would have this trim on and had some insight on how to get it to sit nice. The ONLY thing I did not like about this Freedom shield was the black trim strip on the bottom. FYI it has to be removed to install chrome and its much bigger that the skinny HD rubber trim strip.
