LRS Thresher VS Stingray???

Looking at LRS and I see lots of measurements but no real comparison or differences to these 2. Can someone please explain the difference...I am brand new owner 2019 RG Special , 100 miles on new bike and DAMN love the ride, but can`t hear the radio at speed with stock exhaust. Just ordered Rinehart 4.5 slip ons and imagine it will get worse so wondering if a Screen change is in order....Please educate. Humbly Vince!!!!

I have both the Thresher and Stingray in same height. I didn't really notice too much a difference between using the two. I just just left on the Stingray, I just think it looks a little better. Also if you have tall bars, you won't hit the shield at full lock with the Stingray. It will help you hear the radio, but if you're going down that hole, you'll be upgrading the stereo down the road lol.

Watch their website, get on their email list, if you're not in a rush. They run some pretty good sales on a regular basis.

Also, it may seem counter productive, but earplugs will help immensely. They block out the extra wind noise and and all the highs from the stereo. You ca hear it much better without the fatigue.

I kept the stock bars and the 13" Thresher works well for me. I'll ad a vote for using ear plugs. With the Electra Glide and the Road Glide, I've never been able to make sense of the stereo, regardless of volume or speed, without earplugs.

I have the Road Glide in winter mode with lowers, taller shield, corbin heated seat but I much prefer the stock Special layout and will go back to it as soon as the temps allow it.

In the stock configuration the stereo is pretty much useless with my Full Face Helmet and foam ear plugs.

I really only crave the music when the roads are boring and there aren't many boring roads around here. When i take the bike to the gulf coast for work I will definitely want music.

I have a 14" Stingray on mine for winter. The Stingray has a lip on top that pushes the air over your head. During the summer I go back to my short KlockWerks.
Of course your height is the determining factory in windshield height. Iam in Long Branch a couple times a week for a dog or 2 at the WindMill or Max's. If you give me a heads up, I can meet you and you can sit on mine to see how a 14" shield works for you. Or meet at Shoreline

As was said, sign up for the LRS emails, as they have killer sales.
I just picked up a 16" Stingray for $30.00 for those single digit winter days

Just helping out. I'm running a 11" thresher also ran a 12" stingray. couldn't tell much diff between the two, both work great for me at 5'11" sitting on a cvo solo seat just for reference. The large recurve makes them ride like a taller shield. For the price I don't think they can be beat.

Congrats on the new glide.

Thresher has a typical shape with a recurve top. Stingray has dips on the sides and the same recurve at the top.

I have a 9" Thresher (I'm 5'7") and I must say I'm a little disappointed with it. It has good protection on the sides but my face is still getting hit with too much wind (not buffeting). This may be just because of the distance in the cockpit to the shield though. May try a Stingray next.

I think if you measure like LRS recommends you would have a taller shield and be happy. I measured out to a 12in. I'm 5'4" with 30in inseam. I bought a 13in so it forces me to sit up straight to see over it and in bad weather it's enough to duck behind. That top inch with the recurve is distorted to look through, so plan on the normal looking over it. You may not like the Stingray as it has the cool looking curves on the sides, but it let's more air by on the sides. IMHO.

I followed LRS measuring instructions and it seems to be correct height. I might get away with a 10 but that would be max. Im surprised you can see over a 12 at 54. Do you have an aftermarket seat that raises you? And I had also read about the Stingray letting in more air which is why I got the Thresher.
