Just Ordered a MadStad Adjustable Wind Shield - Updated

Well I did it i ordered a Madstad adjustable windshield for my RGU.

http://www.madstad.com/s.nl/sc.7/category.2136/.f

As some of you may know I sit real high in the saddle. I am 6' tall with a 27" inseam (God was in a playful mood when he made me...) I should have been about 6'6" if I had legs the right length for my body.
I tower over the stock RGU windshield with bugs and rain hitting me straight in my glasses.
Anyway I ordered it in in the smoke gray with a 16" shield, Mark said most people don't need the 16", but he promised to take care of me it the size wasn't right. He doesn't have any 16" smoked gray shields in stock, so it will take about 2 weeks to get mine...

With a warranty like mark gives how can I possibly go wrong?
"if you are not satisfied with your MadStad adjustable windshield system simply return it for a refund. If you are not happy with our product then we don't want your money, simple as that. We understand that motorcycle comfort and wind protection is a personal thing, so you have to make sure our system is right for you."

He has a good deal forum members....

I will post a review after I get it installed...

Just got my Madstad installed Friday...

I got it with the 16" smoked shield. I am 6" tall with 27" inseam. If God had been paying attention when I was born I should have been about 6'7".

Anyway after 3 trys I ended up with the shield about 2.5" up from its lowest position with about 3 fingers of space between the shield and the fairing.

Stting up straight I can see the road over the sheild about 30 -40' in front of the bike. I think that is close to perfect...

I stuck my hand up and felt for the airflow while on the highway. With the current settings the airflow seemed to be about 1 or 2" above my helmet!

There is noticibly less turbulence with the Madstad than with the stock shield. Possibly as much as 50 to 75% less! Momma says it is calmer in the back also. At 73 mph the stereo seems louder. (Maybe due to less buffeting noise?)

The only downside i can think of is it is a pain to get the shield set up evenly. On my first try i had the right side about 1/4" higher than the left. After adjusting it several times using a metal machinist's rule I have the difference down to about 3/32".

I will try to post some pics next weekend...

I think this is going to be a keeper...
