Removing Wiring Retainers from Handlebars

Getting ready to install my Heritage Style bars. May be a dumb question, but I've looked through ever post about changing handle bars, but never saw anything about removing the wiring retainers from the handlebars. I donít want to break them and have to use plastic cable ties. Do you just grab them with needle nose pliers and pull them out? Thanks.

Garage
Either go to Radio shack and get a pair of electronic needle nose pliers (very fine point) or work the retainer sideways to get one side of the clip out and press in the opposite direction and GENTLY work the other side of the clip out.
