Removal of switches

Has anyone removed acc switch or any of the others. Do I need to remove the fairing side covers to remove or can I do with them still installed.

My manual doesn't give the best directions.

Garage
You have to remove the instrument cover to get to the switches, which means the four bolts on the side of the forks, the two by the speedo and tach, and also the ign switch.

Even with the covers off they take some effort to get them pryed out. Fine balance between using enough force and not breaking the plastic to pop them out.
