Mystery button

Hi Guys

I don't know where to put this question. My 2002 Road Glide has a small button with a rubber cover at the base of the steering controls. I've seen other bikes but they just have a hole there. Mine has a switch in it. You have to look down past the speedometer, on the right side way down at the bottom .Anybody know what it is for?

Thanks

John

Should toggle thru trip meter, fuel range, or whatever features the odometer has

If its not for the odometer reset, Possibly someone Installed that to use as the remote garage door opener.

There is a thread in the DIY section on doing that mod if your interested.

It is for the tripometer, mine has the same thing. when the bike is on you can toggle between the bike mileage and the trip mileage.

No better way to see the world than outta the cage and in the wind.

Thanks guys I'm pretty sure it is a factory installed button. I think it should toggle the odometer/tripmeter but doesn't seem to work.
I'll check it out.

Thanks for the help.
