so this weekend is my install..

after two weeks of waiting for the bars and my bike being in the shop for 3 weeks for a new trans, i finally have the bike and bars at my house at the same time. this weekend is supposed to be well over 100 and i have things to do where i need my truck so this weekend is the time to take the plunge!

any last minute advise/tips/tricks on the bar install?

I installed a set of Invicta's last week. Yup, have patience. Also a tip when it comes to the throttle side since your pulling 2 harnesses thru there. I first pulled the throttle wire down and with the control stalk harness, I disconnected it from the stalk (those 2 little plugs) and pull them up from the bottom. I tried pulling it down but the TBW harness just wouldn't allow it some reason.

I've now done a Wide Glide and 4 Road Glides. Take your time, cover the painted parts, turn on some relaxing music, and realize that these parts are all made to work together. If you are relaxed during the install it's a breeze, and can actually be fun (if you enjoy wrenching). Good luck.

the bars finally went on today! the install was ok took a total of 3ish hours with the most time being running the TBW and installation. i had to take things apart 2 and 3 times do to ignorance. i had to remove the bars a second time to cut the zip ties and i had to remove the lever housings cause i ran the cables over the bars instead of behind.

as far as the install i would say that next time can be much faster and easier. with my '16 i did not have to remove the connectors and i did not have the infamous green connector in my TBW.

the bars themselves are beautiful but the 12s i ordered are still a bit short, i should have gone 14 or even 16 inch. they are also quite wide which will take some getting used to.
