Factory 47 Install Cost!

Finally got around to dressing up my 18 RGS. Ordered some Factory 47 12" Signature Bars, took exactly 23 day from order to the front door. After fighting with Yaffe's on my 2012, I figured I would give the local stealership a shot. Was not thrilled about the idea, but the pains of pulling cable before convinced me to give them a try. The dealership was not familiar with Factory 47 bars. Anyhow, I dropped the biked off at 6pm on Monday Night. My phone rang at 10:30 the next morning and I figured they were calling with an issue or adder. Instead they said your bikes done. Long story short, cost $200 (2 hours of labor) and the install was flawless. To say the least, I was shocked and impressed, well worth the $$$. I have never heard of or seen a Harley Dealer do this work so cheap.

Sounds like the dealership treated you fairly. Surprised that they "weren't familiar with" Factory47 bars, as a lot of dealerships offer those as their 2nd choice after trying to push the Harley bars on you. It's also impressive that your dealer will install carry-in parts regardless of where they came from. Our local dealer has a strict policy against it.

No hydraulic line extensions and all of your factory wiring was plenty long enough for the 12" bars. So a couple of hours labor time sounds fair.

Congrats on the new bars.

Nice, I wish I lived near by that dealer. The dealers around here want to charge from 6 to 8 hours.

That's an incredible price from a dealer. The thief dealer near me gave me a price of $950 to install Kliphanger bars. Indy shop did it for $150.

There's a lot of dealer bashing on this forum and it is usually deserving. The bad ones usually get mentioned by name. You should mention dealers by name when they do something good. Which dealer did the work?

What a pair of balls on them; you can't bring your own parts. I guess their not happy only getting $100 an hour for service. They also want to make money on parts.

Your bike looks fantastic! Also, very glad you got a deal on the install. A guy at my work was quoted over $900 to install 14" bars. When he asked how much it would be if he provided the bars, they told him they wouldn't install parts that they did not sell. He had to go to the next nearest dealership (about 2.5-3hrs away) to get the bars he wanted installed. I hate that there's only one dealer near me.
