Highway Peg Mount Advice

Has anybody fitted the gloss black short angled highway peg mount kit (50500168) to the chopped engine guard? If so did they fit ok? I have read a lot of reviews about them being badly made and finished and that they are hard to fit without damaging paint or stripping threads. The reviews I read said that they were too tight to close up to even get the bolt started. People were using g clamps to close them up to get the first few threads started?

I have an 18 SERG

They fit, but adjusting them to angle properly for your feet isn't ideal. I have some pictures of mine, which I'll add shortly. The chopped engine guard will require a set of peg mounts with more articulation than is available in most mounting brackets, especially if you want black mounts.

I am looking to add the chopped engine gaurd to my RGS and I was thinking about going with these; not the cheapest solution but they solve the problem and look good too.

Those might work okay. The chopped engine guard doesn't flare away from the bike as much as the normal guard.

Here's what mine look like with the 50500168 kit

Thanks for the pics. Very useful. You have great taste in bikes but then I am biased

Did you buy another set of pegs or use the passenger pegs?

Thanks, you have great taste as well. lol

I bought another set of pegs to match. Speaking of the passenger pegs, I'll have to address them for next year. They need to be lowered (given that I'll not be raising the passenger seat height) about 1-1.5" to make my girl more comfortable

Were they easy to order or did the dealer have to order them against your VIN?

I got around the problem of my girl being uncomfortable on the back by buying her a Street Bob

Ordered them, no VIN necessary for me. I also ordered the orange-stitched passenger backrest pad to match the seats at the same time.

LOL. I would do the same if she was at all interested in riding her own.
